It sets up a matrix of choices to help customers sort possible selections for their gardens based on USDA cold hardiness zones, sun exposure, mature height and spread of plants, soil type and water needs. This article explains how the tool works and provides examples of how to use it.

Really charming plant. It even does okay in full sun, if you keep it in a wet spot. It survived a particularly intense California summer like that, and even bloomed again as Summer cooled down. The foliage is so pleasantly lush in color and tex...

We ordered plants from Flowers by the Sea and are very happy. Except for one, they arrived in good condition. The service and attention to detail was excellent and we highly recommend. Waiting now for the rainy season to kick it into high gear. I think that will really push them forward.

I ordered 4 salvia this year. All arrived GREEN and VIBRANT--no wilt and no breakage. By far the best plant packing I have seen...but most importantly, all the plants went into the ground and took perfectly.I love the selection! Please keep scouring the world for new salvias. Also love the blog!Scott
My Salvias arrived fresh and lovely. I have been luxuriating in their fragrance this past week. "Doris," the name I've given my Salvia dorisiana is so nicely vertical. She looks particularly regal among my houseplants and smells like she is wearing a bit of fruity perfume. Thanks for the great plants and shipping.
Hi! I ordered outdoor orchids from you last year. Just wanted to say how great they are doing. Mounted the orchids on the trunk of my tree ferns and about half of the kikis are blooming. Evey-thing you sent is still alive. I have never been able to keep orchids alive indoors but they really like hanging outside on trees.

These are not little cuttings, but rather large bushy plants, typically 8-10 or more inches tall, full of buds and sometimes already blooming. They take off when planted. The varieties are as described on the we...

I am 81 years old and have cultivated rhododendrons, camellias, dwarf conifers, etc. for over 50 years. During that time I have come to know many excellent growers and nurserymen. They have set a incomparable standard by the gl...
