Category:News Posted: Jan 14, 2015 06:38 PM Synopsis: Sometimes small changes help online plant nurseries to stay upbeat and, as the Bee Gees sang, to "keep staying alive." Flowers by the Sea, a specialty online Salvia nursery, has made a small increase in its minimum order fee from $10 to $20 to stay profitable and keep providing a wide variety of popular and rare Salvias and companion plants.
Category:News Posted: Aug 16, 2013 12:59 PM Synopsis: Flowers by the Sea now offers a powerful, do-it-yourself, product-filtering tool that makes plant selection easier and faster. It sets up a matrix of choices to help customers sort possible selections for their gardens based on USDA cold hardiness zones, sun exposure, mature height and spread of plants, soil type and water needs. This article explains how the tool works and provides examples of how to use it.

I was sent this plant by mistake ( I had ordered the Coral Nymph). I planted my 3 plants in a large container with rich organic soil. I wanted to be able to move it in the shade if the Texas summer sun was too much for them. They started bloomin...
We ordered plants from Flowers by the Sea and are very happy. Except for one, they arrived in good condition. The service and attention to detail was excellent and we highly recommend. Waiting now for the rainy season to kick it into high gear. I think that will really push them forward.

The plants I received yesterday arrived in great shape, thanks for the extra care you took in packing! I've purchased quite a few salvias recently but can't comment much on any of them yet as they're all too new. I'm trying a variety and excited to see if they all survive the winter here in Portland, Oregon. Thanks again.

I ordered 2 Salvia plants on 06/10/12 and recieved them on 06/14/12; not only were the plants healthy, but Flowers By The Sea was generous enough to include a slightly different Salvia to me as a gift! Even better is the fact that I was interested in both to begin with. I placed my order here because of the lower cost of the item of interest to me... I'm glad I gave this company my busines...
My plants arrived quickly and they were in excellent health. So far, they are doing well in my yard despite the unusually dry weather we've had on the Monterey Peninsula this winter. I will definitely order from fbts again!

Used to live in CA and when I moved to NJ I missed the availability of Salvias. Found your website, searched by zone as I live in zone 6 and found the best asst of Salvias. Believe me when I say that as we order seeds from all over the world. And to our amazement the quality of the plants surpassed the selection! Always top quality plants.

I received 2 shipments in 2010, total of 8 plants, all salvias. I received large plants per capita and they were growing in an interesting well-drained mix. It contained what looked like tiny bits of clay pots in place of perlite. I highly recommend this nursery based on 2010 experience and future 2011 same.
I received my four plants today (that was really fast shipping.) I have been really excited about receiving these. Knowing there are a lot of fraud websites out there, it's hard not to be the least bit skeptical when ordering online. Someone I met online had purchased some plants from here too so I trusted my gut and went ahead. For a second I thought they might not come at all, or they wou...
I ordered Amistad Salvia mid May and was so excited to receive such healthy lush plants from California. I am in growing zone 6 Maryland. Four are in full sun and blooming like crazy as of July 1 and about 3 feet high. I have another one in a pot that only gets afternoon sun. Much smaller and is now blooming July 10th. Hummers are here. Color is an incredible vibrant deep purple blue. Wil...

Clearly I am addicted to Flowers by the Sea! I think I've just about ordered at least one of everything! The plants are all super healthy, and arrive in great shape owing to the (patented?) packing method. The hummingbirds, bees and butterflies are in 7th heaven. I HIGHLY recommend FBTS for all the plants they offer, not just the salvias. I got some terrestrial orchids that are doing...

I received my Salvia in a very timely manner in excellent condition. It is growing very rapidly and is looking very fresh and healthy. I really appreciate the many different Salvias that are available through Flowers by the Sea. The collection is not available anywhere else, I'm sure. I'm so happy I found their web site, which by the way, is the most outstanding and informative web site I h...
