What a lovely improvement over the most popular hybrid
Hedychium
'Dr. Moy', with much more pronounced variegation! 'Tahitian Flame' is a tropical looking, vertical accent plant that adds warmth and exquisite architectural interest. The banana-like foliage is variegated with long, white stripes on bold, broad leaves. Apricot colored flowers are intoxicatingly fragrant and bloom all summer. A wonderfully exotic look for containers or borders.
The plants we offer are in their fifth or sixth growth cycle from tissue culture plugs and are over four feet tall. We've found that it takes this long (about 2 years) to grow a plant large enough to reliably bloom on its next growth. You may find smaller plants offered elsewhere, but these are mature plants that will fill their niche immediately.
