Houttuynia cordata 'Chameleon'

(Chameleon Plant or Lizard Tail) Widespread from Korea to Vietnam, this important medicinal herb, green vegetable and ornamental ground cover is a reliable, easy to grow and hardy herbaceous perennial.

Shade and moisture loving, this useful plant can become a pest in wet spots. It is eye catching ground cover that you can use in tough places. We love it in containers, where the brilliant, multi-color leaves can be used to the best effect.

It occasionally reverts to an all-green leaf form, and rarely a green and white form. Both are lovely and blend in well in a large clump.
