These shade loving Salvias from the woodlands of Japan are easy to grow ans quite temperature hardy. All make an excellent addition to a woodland garden, where they should be placed where their elegant leaves and distinctive flowers can be examined closeup.
Rich soil and good moisture will give you the greatest success with this group, but we have grown them in dry shade as well. Less well known that the Mexican or Californian Sages, these gems from Japan are well worth space in your garden.
