WOW!!! I just received another shipment of plants froom FBTS. These plants are Beautiful. Perfect condition big healthy salvias!

I can't say enough positive things about Kermit and Vikki. By far the best place to buy salvias from. I wouldn't think of buying elsewhere without seeing if they have the plant I am looking for first.

I honestly cannot recommend them more highly. Don't hesitate to place an order here, you will not find better people to deal with anywhere.

I recently received my very first order from Flowers by the Sea Nursery in Northern California.
It won't be my last.
I had researched a lot online about Salivas and although many of the more exciting varieties seemed suitable for my climate -- I knew no nursery that grew them -- meaning I would have to try growing them from seed (not exactly my first choice).
Then I found Flowers by the Sea. What a treasure trove of Salvias! The sheer number of Saliva varieties and cultivars offered is almost mind boggling.
Furthermore what impressed me about the FBTS website was the great care and detail they took in presenting their plant offerings and the helpfulness of the information provided.
I placed my order the very next day and received it within a week's time. The shipment of plants was the most expertly packed box I have ever received. Each plant was swaddled in multiple wrappings of heavy packing paper. The plants themselves were in large pots and had substantial top growth.
Needless to say I am totally wowed by this very fine nursery. I look forward to dealing with them again in the near future.

Salvia divinorum 'Blosser Strain'
DIVINE SAGE, DIVINER’S MINT, SKA MARIA PASTORA, YERBA de MARÍA, HOJAS de la PASTORA, HIERBA de la VIRGEN

Divine sage has captured the imagination of native peoples in Mexico for thousands of years.  Salvia divinorum’s mystic arises from it’s reputed hallucinogenic properties as well as it’s stubborn refusal to bloom in all but the most exacting of cultural conditions. When a gardener does get lucky, she is rewarded with velvety white flowers in whorls along lavender stems.

The leaves are mid-green with yellowish undertones and are quite large at 4” to 12”. It’s quadrangular stems can be fairly lax and will root at the nodes and even the internodes. A perennial herb, this is another high altitude, cloud forest plant found at 6,000ft.-10;000ft. in the Sierra Mazateca of Oaxaca, Mexico.

Plant in rich soil a large container, keep moist and lightly shaded.  If you can grow cool or intermediate Masdevallias, you can grow this sage.

The plants we offer are large, healthy and ready to thrive in your garden or home. They are not small, amateur grown sticks!

We offer this plant as a collector’s item and do not encourage it’s “recreational” use.  For more information about this plant, check out the listing at Wikipedia.

Iochroma fuchsiodes Iochroma fuchsiodes

(Red Arbol de Brujo) From the high, moist forests of the Andes comes this elegant and dramatic plant. Glossy leaves and dark bark on this six foot plus shrub are a fine background for the ultra-numerous three inch long creamy red flowers that flare at the ends to revel the coppery-orange interiors. Blooming thorough the warm season, it is an unbelievable draw for the hummingbirds!

Salvia divinorum 'Luna' Salvia divinorum 'Luna'

(Divine Sage) The rare and much sought after Luna clone was discovered under a mature plant on Maui, Hawaii.  It features much larger, rounder leaves than any of the other cultivated strains, with prominent central markings of silvery white.  It is reputed to be very much more potent medicinally than other strains as well.
