(Patio Rose Gentian Sage) Patio Rose is a lovely, dwarf variety of Salvia patens from Holland. It needs partial shade and is perfect for containers. The rose-colored flowers are larger than those of other Gentian Sages.

Part of a series for small gardens along with deep blue and sky blue varieties, Patio Rose is compact, long blooming and easy to grow. It is a perennial, yet so pretty that it is worth growing as a summer bedding plant in colder zones. British horticulturist Graham Stuart Thomas called Salvia patens "the best plant in cultivation."

Although small, Patio Rose has bigger flowers than standard-sized members of the species and blooms from summer into fall. Put it together with other varieties in its series as edging, borders and container plants.

We highly recommend this variety as do hummingbirds and butterflies! Deer disagree.
