I recently bought 5 salvias in two varieties. I was impressed on how quickly they came and how carefully packaged they were. I cant wait to watch them mature, and will defiantly be buying more from you in the future! Thanks!

WOW!!! I just received another shipment of plants froom FBTS. These plants are Beautiful. Perfect condition big healthy salvias!

I can't say enough positive things about Kermit and Vikki. By far the best place to buy salvias from. I wouldn't think of buying elsewhere without seeing if they have the plant I am looking for first.

I honestly cannot recommend them more highly. Don't hesitate to place an order here, you will not find better people to deal with anywhere.

Salvia wagneriana
(Wagner's Sage) From the cloud forests of Southern Mexico and Central America comes this 100% dazzling winter blooming beauty. We have it in bloom from November through March - come snow, ice or temperatures as low as 20 degrees. How hardy is this plant, beloved and cultivated by the people in its native lands? It does grow at elevations as high as 6,500 feet, so its real hardiness may be much greater than we now know.

This is a large plant, and can easily grow to 10 by 10 feet.  Keep it smaller and more dense by pruning in mid to late summer, before the spectacular, large almost unbelievably prolific blooms  on foot long spikes appear.  And the triangular, fealty green leaves are so pretty we would grow it even if it did not flower.

We can't say enough about this plant.  It is our absolute favorite in the Winter months, and is a superb source of food for the hummingbirds that remain here at this time.

Give it space, good soil, ample water and food.  San then stand back.

Highly recommended.

We are pleased to suggest these other plants, which go well with Salvia wagneriana:

Salvia karwinskii Salvia karwinskii

(Karwinski's Sage) From moist mountain areas in Mexico and Central America, this rugged, winter blooming shrub is found in oak or pine forests at 4,000ft.-8,000ft. It’s high altitude habitat must account for the fact that this winter bloomer withstands short term temperatures into the low 20’s and still produce a few flowers!

Salvia lasiantha Salvia lasiantha

(Wooly Multicolor Sage) The large wrinkled foliage and white wooly stems of this large, shrubby Sage is reason enough to grow it. But the flowers and wooly bracts are unlike any other Salvia we have ever seen. Starting in the morning as an orange-apricot, they age as the day goes on to a reddish-purple. The bracts are white, with overlays of pink, orange, violet and cream. The flower clusters are large and on display from mid Summer until the onset of cold weather.

Salvia purpurea Salvia purpurea

(Autumn Purple Sage) The small but very numerous flowers of this Sage, native to Southern Mexico and into Guatemala, are a shade of light purple that is unlike any other we grow. A shrub that can grow to seven or more feet in ideal conditions, the light yellow-green leaves give it a soft look in the shaded garden.

Salvia wagneriana 'White Bracts' Salvia wagneriana 'White Bracts'

(Pink & White Wagner's Sage) From the cloud forests of Southern Mexico and Central America comes this 100% dazzling winter blooming beauty. This one differs from the straight species in having white bracts instead of the usual pink. We have it in bloom from November through March - come snow, ice or temperatures as low as 20 degrees. How hardy is this plant, beloved and cultivated by the people in its native lands?
