FBTS uses a formula based on the main -- or primary -- color of a plant's flowers to identify similar plants. The foundation of our analysis is the internationally standardized color system published by the U.K.'s Royal Horticultural Society.
Each RHS color has a common name and a code combining a number and a letter from A to D. Immediate family of a color share the same number, but not necessarily the same common name. For example RHS#44A is Vivid Red, whereas RHS#44B and #44C are both commonly called Vivid Reddish Orange and #44D is Strong Yellowish Pink. Moving up one closely related color set, you find Vivid Reddish Orange RHS#43A and #43B, Deep Yellowish Pink RHS #43C and Strong Yellowish Pink RHS #43D. Moving down one closely related family, you arrive at RHS#45A to C, all of which are called Vivid Red and then RHS #45D, which is Strong Red.
Extended family can be so confusing! Don't worry about keeping the RHS common names and codes straight. Just be aware that all the plants in this gallery are part of one big happy color family.
Flowers arrived in great condition, and much larger than expected. I have looked for both plants for a very long time and had just about given up hope of finding them. I am so pleased with the plants, condition and service, that I cannot say enough. I have become a life-long customer. Thanks so...
I ordered Amistad Salvia mid May and was so excited to receive such healthy lush plants from California. I am in growing zone 6 Maryland. Four are in full sun and blooming like crazy as of July 1 and about 3 feet high. I have another one in a pot that only gets afternoon sun. Much smaller and...
I received my plants in a very timely fashion and they were in unbelievably good condition. I have never ordered plants online that were better packed. I following the directions supplied and my plants are now in containers and looking great. I live in an apartment and have very limited space on...

I am very happy with my experience with Flowers by the Sea. Ordering was easy and the plants arrived in great shape. Thank you!
Plants looked very good at very reasonable prices.
This spring I ordered from 5 different plant sites. FBTS was by far the best. The plants were larger and better branched. Your packaging was superb! Each plant was still moist around its roots and the dirt was held in each pot so none was shaken loose. Your service is the best! Thanks.
Your website, plant quality, careful packing, rapid shipping (1900 miles in 2 days, thanks UPS!), & superb personal customer service will keep me coming back! My wish list is filling up already. THANKS Kermit!
