UPS Shipping Rates for FBTS Going UP!

Beginning December 20, 2019, the rates that United Parcel Service charges Flowers by the Sea for shipping are going up 4.9%. We are sorry to inform you that it will cost us more to deliver plants next year. Our narrow profit margin doesn’t allow us to absorb this cost for long.

To help dull the pain of this increase, we won’t raise delivery rates for next year’s spring orders already placed or for any that you place up to December 20. By ordering now, you can save on shipping for purchases that you schedule for delivery up to as late as June 1, 2020.

We work hard at FBTS to secure the best shipping rates possible and to deliver you the largest, most well-developed plants possible to ensure your gardening success. This means that we use larger cartons than most mail-order nurseries. All shipping carriers charge based on the volume of a package. However, we strive to minimize this cost by utilizing five different box sizes and packing efficiently.

Our negotiated contract with UPS gives us an excellent discount which we pass on entirely to you.  We know that high shipping charges hurt, and are always looking for ways to lower them without lowering plant quality.
