A partial-shade setting with rich, well-drained soil helps this water-loving, tender perennial to thrive. A combination of morning sun and afternoon shade is optimal.

Grow Elk Mauve Scarlet Sage as a standout annual bedding plant or as a houseplant in areas where winters are cold. It is well adapted to container planting and hot climates.

Hummingbirds are attracted to the bright flowers of long-blooming Scarlet Sages, including Elk Mauve. So are gardeners, because these are easy plants to grow. We're glad to say that deer don't like them.
