Testimonials
I am a delighted returning customer. FBTS provides beautiful, healthy plants with friendly and fast service.
Jeremy

Just received my 3 Plectranthus Mona Lavender and I was amazed at the more than excellent packing. What surprised me the most was that it was in transit for 7 days from California to Florida. I expected them to be somewhat droopy, but immediately out of the box they are healthy, beautiful, not dried out at all and have great color. This is the best care I have seen from a plant mail order company. Thank you.

Salvia greggii 'Teresa'

Salvia greggii 'Teresa'

(Teresa's Autumn Sage) Powder pink and white bicolor flowers make this sage look like an over-large bridal bouquet with densely leafed, mounding foliage. This sage appreciates some shade, but can withstand heat and moderate drought.

Discovered by Texan David Steinbrunner, who named the cultivar after his wife, Teresa, this sage fits well in a mixed planting with another of our Lone Star State favorites, Salvia greggii`Texas Wedding’.

The first person to bring Autumn Sage to the notice of the horticultural world was Josiah Gregg, after whom the species is named. A pioneer and plant explorer, Gregg discovered it in Northern Mexico in the mid-19th century.

Thank you, David and Josiah. We appreciate plant explorers and developers. Indirectly, so do the butterflies, honeybees and hummingbirds who have discovered Teresa's Autumn Sage and other Salvias in our garden.

Synopsis: To create a successful xeriscape garden, planning and design are essential. Planning helps you make better choices, which saves time, money and effort as well as water. A little bit of wisdom from ancient Native American practices doesn’t hurt either. While soil improvement is always helpful, it should be moderate for xeric Salvias, such as Autumn Sage and Mealy Cup Sage. Finally, pruning and thinning, strategic groupings of plants for frugal watering and mulching for protection against severe heat or winter chill all were key to ancient Southwestern agriculture as well as modern xeriscaping.

Synopsis: Creating a butterfly garden is like creating a teen-friendly home. You need to offer tasty snacks, healthy beverages, and comfortable accommodations that aren't too tidy. Like the teens that fill your basement and backyard, butterflies will keep coming back if you give them what they need. The variety of plants in your yard is the main reason why butterflies do or don’t visit. Salvias are among the popular plants for adult butterflies that love nectar.
