This is my second year ordering from this fine nursery. The plants are large and healthy, and the choices are spectacular! They were very well packed and shipping was very quick.

Salvia glabrescens 'Shi Ho'
(Makino) A very rare clone of this woodland Japanese native. Even if it never flowered, I would grow this plant for its lush, almost edible looking foliage. Hardy and rewarding, this is a choice plant for any shady garden spot.

This clone has leaves that blend in color from light yellowish green to rich dark green with age.  The flowers are spectacular - an eye catching two tone pinkish-purple and a rich deep bluish-purple.  I know of no other Salvia with such striking colors.  The flower spikes are not large, but the effect is one of balance and grace.

This is a plant that needs to be seen up close, either in a container or by a shady pathway.  Slow growing but tough, we know you will enjoy this woodland gem.
