FBTS uses a formula based on the main -- or primary -- color of a plant's flowers to identify similar plants. The foundation of our analysis is the internationally standardized color system published by the U.K.'s Royal Horticultural Society.
Each RHS color has a common name and a code combining a number and a letter from A to D. Immediate family of a color share the same number, but not necessarily the same common name. For example RHS#44A is Vivid Red, whereas RHS#44B and #44C are both commonly called Vivid Reddish Orange and #44D is Strong Yellowish Pink. Moving up one closely related color set, you find Vivid Reddish Orange RHS#43A and #43B, Deep Yellowish Pink RHS #43C and Strong Yellowish Pink RHS #43D. Moving down one closely related family, you arrive at RHS#45A to C, all of which are called Vivid Red and then RHS #45D, which is Strong Red.
Extended family can be so confusing! Don't worry about keeping the RHS common names and codes straight. Just be aware that all the plants in this gallery are part of one big happy color family.
Beautifully grown plants of unusual hard to get varieties. I've potted them on to keep them growing through the heat of the Austin summer; looking forward to placing them in the garden this fall.
I have made and received 2 orders from FBTS and have been very pleased. They have been nice, big plants and have adapted to the Oklahoma weather nicely. The last shipment was made when the weather was hot and the salvia plants looked liked they would rather have stayed in California but I...
Beautiful, unusual plants at a good price. The service was great. I am very happy with my purchase.
My order for S. greggii alba x dorisiana, S. Amistad and S. x Electric Purple arrived yesterday afternoon in excellent condition with approx. 11\", 18\" and 8\" of growth respectively, not including blooms on Elec. Purple. (These plants are much larger and healthier looking than what I could...
I'm very impressed with the quality of you're plants. The five or six I've ordered the past two years are thriving . I will continue to order from you as long as I have room in my garden. Just a great website to have discovered ! Thanks, Spencer
My first order with FBTS was great except for one plant that was weak from the get-go... however all the other plants were in acceptable shape (however a little more pot-bound than I would normally find desirable) they did survive and are flourishing! Upon submitting my issue with this one...

Hey...plants arrived in great shape. Will report on their performance in our very wet summer climate as the summer matures! First test: the 12 inches of rain We had over the past week...which will tell me whether I got bed prep right!
FBTS provides detailed plant descriptions making selection decisions easy. The site is well organized so that selection can be made using categories to choose plants that fit your garden/habitat needs. Good healthy plants with strong roots. Good shipping practices. Plants arrived in excellent...
The four plants I ordered from you were a very nice size and two of them are already blooming away in my hummingbird garden, much to the delight of the juvenile anna's who owns that particular turf. My entire experience with the order was excellent: the plants I wanted were available, they...
Kermit and Vicky are so pleasant to work with. They sent the package promptly and the plants are absolutely gorgeous! There was a mistake with the order and they were wonderful to work with on the correction. Highly recommended!
